Tokyo course number ART 230 - The course is an introduction of Asian art history. We deal with the arts that embrace a variety of ideas and forms in Asian countries except Japan, from Paleolithic time through the nineteenth century. The course introduces art works, including pottery, sculptures, paintings, and architectures in India, South-East Asia, Central Asia, China and Korea. Through these we will try to understand a diversity of culture in Asia as well as common denominators.
