Art is the visiable reflection of the ideas of an era. A work of art is nourished by the religious, philosophical and political ideas of the times as well as by the artist's ideas.. Is a work of art the equivalent of a text, a poem, an extract from the Bible? We will study Art and religion, politics, philosophy and ideas about society, from the 11th Century to the present. We will visit the Musee D'Orsay, the Louvre, Beaubourg, etc. (Approved by C. Rosenberg)
