This course will cover topics related to the design and evaluation of bioengineered tissue substitutes, with a focus on orthopaedic tissues. The lecture material will cover cells, cell and tissue culture, biomaterials, control of tissue development in vitro, transplantation and immunomodulatioin, quantitative aspects of tissue engineering, and applications. Research described in current journal articles will be studied.
