The course provides a comprehensive treatment of the many opportunities and challenges with regards to achieving a sustainable energy balance. Beginning with an overview of sustainablility metrics, this course will attempt to gain a working understanding of what is at stake and the many factors that are involved with achieving this equilibrium. Enhancing the student's technical grasp of energy production and consumption methods will aid in finding creative ways to use this information to inform the non-technical general public. Additionally this course will help in further making the ethical connections necessary to form arguments for cleaner energy production and consumption methods that are crucial for the prospect of a sustainable future.
