The analysis and synthesis of planar, spherical, and spatial mechanisms. Topics include: vectors, complex numbers, and the analysis of planar mechanisms, design of cams, gear tooth geometry, and the analysis of transmissions, synthesis of planar mechanisms, direction cosine matrices, and the analysis of spherical mechanisms, homogeneous transformations, and the analysis of spatial mechanisms. NB : The photo-copying fee for this course will be approximately £10. No textbook has been assigned to this class.
