Science, technology and society is constructively and deconstructively theorized within fields of knowledge known as textual and political economies. In considering competing intellectual traditions in creating a theory of science, technology, and society, themes such as the relationship between science, technology and the state; social epistemology; laboratory science studies; feminist perspectives on science and technology; ecological foundations for science and technology; and the globalization of science and technology will be discussed.
