This course introduces the student to the basic underlying principles of geography that deal with measurements and analysis of the earth's surface and the field of geographic information systems. The critical underlying issues of GIS will be discussed in the context of the learned principles and promote critical thinking by the student. Students will learn the fundamentals of computer generated GIS by using the leading GIS software product, ArcView. Lecture [2.00], Laboratory [2.00].
