This course examines the first line supervisor as an integral part of the total management team and as one of the cornerstones upon which successful operations rest. The course analyzes the role of the supervisor as a problem solver and as a key link in the communication process. Topics explored in the course are the supervisor's expanded responsibilities for planning, training, developing, and motivating employees; counseling, performance appraisal; decision making; and leadership.
