[Spring Only] This course is designed to give students an understanding of the principles of Organic Chemistry and of Biochemistry. The study of Organic Chemistry will emphasize a functional group approach. Topics studied will include hydrocarbons, alcohols, carbonyl compounds, and amines. Topics taught in Biochemistry will include carbohydrates, proteins, lipids, nucleic acids, bioenergetics, enzymes, and biosynthetic pathways. Lecture [3.00], Laboratory [3.00].
