Description:
This is a survey course in chemistry for non-science majors emphasizing applications of chemistry to present society. Topics include organic chemistry, polymers, biochemistry, consumer and environmental chemistry, drugs, fitness and health. Laboratory sections emphasize applications of basic techniques and supplement lecture topics. Other topics include nuclear energy, alternative energy sources, and genetic engineering. This course is a continuation of CHM 106. This course does not serve as a prerequisite for CHM 211.
