Description:
An introduction to the current solar system family surveying each of the individual constituents. A comparative study will be made of the nine planets and their satellites and a detailed look at comets, asteroids and interplanetary debris will be undertaken. An overview of the formation, evolution and structure of the solar nebula will be presented. Current topics on interplanetary missions, other planetary system candidates, and extraterrestrial life will be discussed. May be taken for grades or on a pass-no pass basis. Transfer Credit: CSU; UC.
