Prerequisite: CHEM 103, CHEM 104, CHEM 203; Minimum grade C- Corequisite: CHEM 410L This course studies modern instrumental methods including proton and carbon-13 nuclear magnetic resonance, infrared spectroscopy, ultraviolet and visible spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, gas chromatography and HPLC. We consider these subjects both theoretically and via laboratory demonstration for infrared spectroscopy, ultraviolet and visible spectroscopy, gas chromatography and HPLC.
