Teaching Social and Personal Skills to Students with Disabilities: This course will present students with a wide range of information regarding the social and personal skills that children with disabilities need in order to achieve their personal independence in school, at home, and in the community. Emphasis will be on the importance of teaching personal management and independent living skills, on providing appropriate adaptations to promote personal autonomy, and on creating supports and services that maximize independence and community integration of students with disabilities. Prerequisites: ESE 0600, 0610, 0620, 0630, 0640, 0650, 0660, 0670
