Students in this course encounter novelists, poets, essayists, and critics whose works stem from their identity as women who think, feel, and write. These women may include Wollstonecraft, Stein, Woolf, Lessing, Plath, Levertov, Walker, Rich, and others. Readings explore the roles of women in varying racial and cultural situations. Prerequisite: ENG 112 or ENG 112H.
