Examines texts drawn from throughout Steinbeck's career, with special attention to the common themes, preoccupations, and narrative devices which characterize his works. Readings will be drawn from such works as Cannery Row, The Grapes of Wrath, and The Winter of Our Discontent. Prereq: ENGL 250 or department approval
