Designed to give a student the opportunity to test his or her career choice by working off campus either in a for-profit or not-for-profit organization. Having studied theories and principles in previous course work, the intern is able to use the knowledge gained in an actual work environment. Concurrently with the work experience, students are required to attend a series of seminars where they will deal with problems and issues related to their work experience. Students will be responsible for working a minimum of nine hours a week throughout the semester (15 weeks). The program is intended to serve students who have completed at least 24 credit hours of college work (including sufficient hours in their major to make them employable) and have at least a 2.5 GPA. Prerequisites: 2.5 GPA and Permission of the Experiential and Adult Learning Office. 3 Credits.
