This course introduces students to the basic concepts and operations applicable in a disaster environment (particularly for major disasters) and will enhance understanding of what the proper roles and responsibilities of various local and state emergency management officials are, why they matter, and how these roles and responsibilities relate to those carried out by the federal government. To foster multilevel partnership, the course emphasizes the problem solving aspects of disaster operations as well as associated coordination requirements. Two class hours. Offered Fall and Spring Semesters. Prerequisite: EMG 101 or permission of instructor. 2 Credits.
