Considers robitic design as part of an integrated system of internal engineering structure and external functional and aesthetic form. Intended for students with an interest in the emerging field of robotics and how it draws from the fields of science, engineering and art. Students will learn the fundamentals of robotic design, including mechanics, electronics, programming and aesthetics. Laboratory portion of the course will be devoted to the construction and programming of robots. Required laboratory. Prereq: PHYS 120 or department approval
