Study and implementation of instructional materials, planning, methods, and assessment procedures appropriate for teaching social studies to diverse learners. Focus on strategies for NYS Standardsbased instruction. Field experience required. Students seeking Childhood certification will take this course for two (2) credits. Students in the Adolescence Education program who are seeking the 5-6 extension in Social Studies will take this course for three (3) credits; for these students, fifteen (15) additional field hours are devoted to observation, instructional planning, lesson delivery and assessment at the extension level. Prerequisite: ED 330 and admission to the Division.
