An introduction to the Internet and the World Wide Web. The history of the web, it's potential and getting connected will be discussed. This is a theory and "hands-on" course. Students will become familiar with the use of hardware, software, e-mail alternatives, using Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer, Using search engines and directories effectively, assessing web site quality, obtaining programs and data. Key terms/concepts of the Internet will be discussed. All lab work will be done on IBM compatible PC's. Prereq: None(Knowledge of MS Windsows 95/98/2000/XP/Vista preferred)
