This course is designed to prepare students to operate a variety of breath test equipment and be able to correctly interpret the findings of the tests. The chemical composition of alcohol is explored, as well as show the various instruments analyze the subject's breath for measurable traces of alcohol. The student is eligible for New York State certification upon successful completion of this course. Thirty class hours. Prerequisite: Must be a sworn police or peace officer. 2 Credits.
