Prerequisites: Junior or Senior standing in VARTS and consent of instructorThis course is designed to prepare students for the transition fromacademia to working experiences that may form the basis of a careerin disciplines in and related to the creative and visual arts. Prior tostarting their internship, students are guided through the experienceof preparing a resume, conducting a job search and applying for aposition. Students may select from a variety of positions at galleries,museums, non-profit organizations or as assistants to photographersand artists. During the semester students perform 135 hours of work,usually without financial remuneration for their services. Studentswrite a paper about their experience and receive feedback from theiremployers, their RWU Career Services advisor, and their facultysponsor.
