Prerequisites: CJS 105 or LS 101 and permission of instructor.The Legal Advocacy Clinic is a unique opportunity for studentsinterested in working with victims of domestic violence in the courtsystem. The Clinic experience will begin in the classroom wherestudents will learn the history of domestic violence and the uniquechallenges involved with addressing domestic violence cases. Oncestudents are educated and trained, students will work in the NewportCourthouse to assist and advocate on behalf of clients that wish toapply for orders of protection. Students will work weekly in the courthouse, providing advocacy services, under the direction of theinstructor.
