Prerequisites: ARCH 434A qualitative and quantitative analysis of structural materials,structural members, and structural assemblies. Emphasizes thefundamental design principles of wood, steel and concrete structures.Foundation and lateral load resisting systems will be studied. Casestudies of significant architectural structures will be assigned todevelop design and analytical skills, including the use of structuralanalysis software. The integration of the structural system with othersystems within the building and its relationship to the enclosuresystem will be addressed. Advanced structural technologies, such astensile, shell, and high-rise systems will be introduced
