A capstone course applying principles of atmospheric dynamics and thermodynamics to the processes that focus and organize mesoscale weather systems. Topics include mechanically and thermally driven circulations such as land-sea breezes, lake-effect snow, slop/ valley flows, mountain waves, and polar lows. Atmospheric stability, convection theory, atmospheric discontinuities, severe convention, MCCs, and analysis and forecast methods are examined. Prerequisite: MET 480.
