Prerequisite: OSM 202 or equivalent. The purpose of this course is for students to develop a thorough understanding of the practical aspects of survey problems in the modern business world. Students will learn how to develop and use questionnaires in business research. This will include practical aspects of conducting sample surveys, with an emphasis on sources of errors in surveys, methods of data collection, designing questionnaires, and guidelines for planning surveys. Upon completion of this course, students should be able to plan, manage, and complete a comprehensive sample survey. Case studies and the SAS software system are used where appropriate to illustrate applications of survey sampling. Strong emphasis will be placed on the application of SAS software to actual business data.
