Focuses on death and dying topics through the life span to include those that affect health care workers. Topics include discussion on western philosophy about death and dying, personal assessment of death, cultural, spiritual and religious aspects of death and dying, grieving and bereavement, loss of child, loss of parent, loss of spouse and communication issues related to death and dying. This course will also look at ethical and legal issues and the healthcare provider’s role. (Elective)
