Investigates public policy approaches to people-based and place-based strategies that confront the consequences of economic development and transition; analyzes the effectiveness of national, state, and local level responses to poverty and spatial distress; examines the connection between product markets, labor markets (people), and land markets (places); develops skills in the areas of public policy formulation, analysis and evaluation.
