Prerequisite: permission of chairperson. An examination of 20th Century Theater in Spain covering such dramatists as Valle-Inclán, J. Benavente, M. Mihura, García Lorca, Buero Vallejo, and others. Outcome: Students will gain an understanding of dramatic genres and the contribution of Spanish playwrights to contemporary discussions on political and aesthetic issues.
