Students will study negotiation techniques and mediation as a means of contract development and dispute resolution. Students will role play in various scenarios in order to develop skills necessary to facilitate meaningful negotiation. These exercises will allow the students to analyze situations in order to come up with various options or approaches. Students will learn to prepare and communicate effectively, gain the capacity to think creatively and analyze critically, and develop the ability to recognize, differentiate, and organize relevant facts. Negotiation and mediation require careful listening, and strong personal interaction and conflict management skills.
