All classes are conducted in Portuguese. More advanced training in the skills of the language through short stories, plays, poetry, and miscellaneous readings from Brazil, Portugal, and Portuguese-speaking Africa that reflect the mix of cultures at work in the contemporary Lusophone world. Throughout the course emphasis is placed on vocabulary building, ease and fluency in the language. Language lab is required. Prerequisite: 210.277, or equivalent. May not be taken satisfactory/unsatisfactory. Instructor permission required.
