Students develop an understanding of the major theoretical and philosophical issues in art education through an examination of historical, current, cross-cultural, aesthetic and personal perspectives. The development of a personal philosophy of art education is the capstone experience along with the development of research and presentation skills. Requirements include extensive reading and preparation of a major paper. Partially satisfies the College of Liberal Arts Writing-Across-the-Curriculum requirement for art majors. Prerequisites: AD 208 or concurrent enrollment and EDUC 311 or concurrent enrollment.
