Description:
(Same as Special Education 422) Examination of the reading process with emphasis on the factors and conditions that affect reading. Emphasis also on the formulation of a philosophy of reading and its implications in relation to methods, materials, organizational procedures, and evaluation techniques. Prerequisite: for Elementary Education majors, grade C or better in CI 321, 435 and Education 313 or consent of instructor; for Special Education majors, admission to the Teacher Education Program. Note: Elementary Education majors must take CI 423 and EDUC 323 concurrently with this class.
