This course examines gender and mental health by considering social, cultural, and biological explanations for problems such as depression, trauma, anxiety, drugs/alcohol use. Cross-cultural similarities and differences of gender are considered with respect to etiology, epidemiology, symptomatology, treatment, and recovery. Prerequisites: upper-division standing.
