This course explores the living structures, family and gender relations, economy, and religion in the Middle East. We will especially focus on how people come to terms with recent transformations such as nationalism, literacy, globalism, and Islamism. Prerequisites: upper-division standing. (Formerly known as ANRG 122.) Credit not allowed for both ANRG 122 and ANSC 133.
