This course examines four interrelated and historically structured themes of urban culture in Latin America: the role of cities in organizing national space and society; immigration and race; modernism; and popular culture as new religion, music, and film. Prerequisites: upper-division standing. (Formerly known as ANRG 114.) Credit not allowed for both ANRG 114 and ANSC 131.
