Effective Spring 2010 Prerequisite: WTTI 211C This course is a continuation of WTTI 211C and is designed to train prospective wastewater treatment plant operators and managers in the practical aspects of operating and maintaining wastewater treatment plants, with emphasis on the use of safe practices and procedures. Topics include conventional activated sludge processes, sledge digestion and solids handling, effluent disposal, plant safety and good housekeeping, plant and equipment maintenance, analysis and presentation of data, and recores and report writing. Students will also learn how to analyze and solve operational problems and how to perform the mathematical calculations relating to wastewater treatment process control.
