Prerequisite: Math 126 Corequisite: Math 227 A study of the branch of mechanics dealing with forces and the effects of forces acting on bodies at rest. Topics include: vector operations, applied loads forces, moments of a force, couples, resultants, free body diagrams, equilibrium, friction, centroids, centers of gravity and moments of inertia. Applications of these topics involve: beams, frames, trusses, cables, pulleys, sheaves, and machines.
