Students will learn to use design software: SolidWorks and support/analysis programs such as COSMOS. Basic techniques for directly measuring solid objects using digital calipers, gauges, and identification of standard components to reverse-engineer the dimensions of the object. Specific topics covered: generation of designed solid model, three-view drawings, dimensions, tolerances, etc.
