A course for educational leaders that provides an overview of governance and policy related to educational organizations and administration through which political units such as federal agencies, state, departments, and local school districts exercise authority. Students explore the legal frameworks, major policy actors, and scopes of authority, examining critically special issues and reforms as an aspect of educational politics and policymaking with a goal of becoming more proactive in the policy process.
