Topics covered include quantum mechanical treatments to two-level atomic systems, optical gain, homogenous and inhomogenous broadening, laser resonators and their modes, Gaussian beams, cavity design, pumping schemes, rate equations, Q-switching, mode-locking, various gas, liquid, and solid-state lasers.
