Stress transfer, stiffness and strength properties of short fiber composites. Generalized Hooke's Law and stress-strain relations of an orthotropic lamina. Stiffness and strength criteria of orthotropic composite materials. Laminated Plate Theory. Composites Design. Prerequisites: MATH 270, CME 260, and CME 360. Grade only.
