ART 417 - Advanced Painting

Continued intensive studio practice aimed at formal and technical proficiency in the use of paint. Students work to establish a meaningful direction in their painting, as they begin to identify individual interest concerning form and content. Students engage in an ongoing study of relevant artists' work, stylistic directions of the modern era and other recent trends including combined media. Preparation and exhibition of completed work is addressed at this level. May be repeated to a maximum of 9 credits. Prerequisite: ART 317. Grade only.
