Description:

Students attend at least 60% of presentations in the Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics Invited-Speaker Seminar Series during the semester. In addition, instructors and students select speakers (one third of the speakers in the series), and read 2-3 publications (suggested by the speaker) in depth. Students then present these papers to the rest of the class, the instructors and the speaker's faculty host in a journal club setting prior to the speaker's arrival. Finally, students attend a post-seminar class with the selected speaker, in which they ask questions related to the papers and to the topic of the seminar.
