This course teaches advanced Computer Vision algorithms such as face recognition, as well as advanced 1D DSP algorithms such as speech recognition. Realtime speech and image processing systems are implemented using the Xilinx Virtex 5 FPGA board as well as Windows C++ programming. The course has a strong practical implementation enphasis and students are required to develop complex projects using Xilinx DSP tools and Matlab in a Windows environment.
