Description:
-
This course will mainly be conducted in the form of a professional dance rehearsal which will then be carried through performance. Students will have the experience of creating new movement within a choreographic process, through new work and/or repertory that will be adapted in order to draw on the unique artistry of each of the dancers (both those currently embodied and those yet to be discovered). Students will focus their attention on the artistry, vitality and unpredictability of performance. Students will learn to expand their awareness of ¿unconscious¿ physical habits, awaken their senses, explore nuance and subtlety, and delve into the crux of movement material. Additional goals for the course include providing an experience of a realistic, efficient rehearsal process, addressing a variety of performance techniques and carrying out various production aspects of performance.
