The second semester of the introductory sequence designed for majors in biology. Topics include: Evolution (natural and sexual selection, population genetics, speciation, origin of life), Biodiversity, Physiology, Ecology (communities, ecosystems, biomes) and Conservation biology. Concurrent enrollment is BIO 111P is not required, but is strongly recommended for current or prospective Biology majors and is required for Biology majors. The laboratory course is also recommended for those intending to apply to medical school.
