Introduction to operations research techniques and advanced mathematics for the analysis of engineering systems. Principles of problem identification and model formulation, linear and nonlinear programming, integer programming, multi-objective programming, dynamic programming and network programming. Foundations of the risk analysis, statistical modeling, and computer simulation. Topics also include advanced linear algebra, partial differential equations, and fourier analysis. Prerequisite: ENGR 3301 or MATH3353 or equivalent or dept chair approval.
