Environmental analytical chemistry is an in­strumental methods-of-analysis course oriented spe­cifically toward the needs of those concerned with natural waters, soils, sediments, and related media. Emphasis is placed on sampling, main­tenance of sample integrity, and sample preparation for analysis. Modern spectrophotometric, electrochemical, and high-resolution chromatographic methods are used for the determination of organic and inorganic compounds in environmental media.
