Description:
The student will be introduced to mathematical calculations routinely encountered in hospital and physicians office laboratories. The student will be presented with information specific to clinical laboratory science. By the end of this course, the student will be competent to perform basic laboratory calculations commonly used in the areas of Clinical Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, Immunology and Microbiology. The student will also gain an understanding of the principal of clinical instrument calibration, as well as statistical calculations used for quality control procedures, quality assurance, and analytical method comparison used in the clinical laboratory.
